Abdollah Malekjafarian
Dr Abdollah Malekjafarian is a Director of Advanta Blue Solutions and an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at University College Dublin. He specialises in developing advanced sensing and AI-driven methods to design, monitor and maintain critical civil infrastructure, with a strong focus on renewable energy assets.Abdollah has secured over €3 million as a PI in competitive research funding and leads large, multi-partner projects that bridge academia and industry. He coordinates WindLEDeRR, Ireland’s first national project to create decision-support tools for the lifetime extension, decommissioning and repowering of end-of-life wind turbines. He also contributes to the IEA TCP Task 42, advancing innovative methods for the sustainable management of wind turbine assets.Beyond wind energy, Abdollah has pioneered drive-by bridge monitoring techniques and AI-based railway track diagnostics that are now informing both infrastructure managers and policy makers. Abdollah is a member of the Young Academy of Ireland, sits on the Science Communication Committee of the European Academy of Wind Energy, and serves on the editorial boards of Discover Energy (Springer), Shock and Vibration (Wiley), and Journal of Vibroengineering (Extrica).

Dr Md Salauddin
Dr Md Salauddin is a Director of Advanta Blue Solutions and an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at University College Dublin. His research interests include the application of nature-based solutions in a changing climate, climate change and extremes, climate resilience of critical coastal infrastructures, storm surge and wave impacts on coastal protections, wave structure interactions at sea defences, extreme coastal hazards (impact pressures, scouring, overtopping, hydraulic stability of coastal structures), offshore renewable energy (wave, wind, and tidal energy), and water quality. Dr Salauddin has a strong track record of securing and successfully delivering large-scale national and international projects funded by Horizon Europe, the Marine Institute, Geological Survey Ireland (GSI), Research Ireland, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other major funding agencies’, with a cumulative project value exceeding €23 million.
